If your kitchen is well-loved, then it is probably time to see about cleaning those burnt pots, pans, and baking sheets. They can become really nasty over time.

Mine were looking pretty tired. I was able to get them looking like new in just a few simple steps.

So let’s get to it…

Bar Keepers Friend is a cleaning staple that every girl needs. I learned this after I was gifted it from a friend šŸ™‚

You can use it for cleaning just about anything. It helps remove stains on hard surfaces like cookware, kitchens, and even bathrooms. I have found it to be my favorite go-to when it comes to easily cleaning burnt pans.

How to Easily Clean Burnt PansĀ

Step 1:

Use liquid Bar Keepers Friend. Shake well.

Step 2:

Wet the scorched pan.

Step 3:

Squeeze BKF liquid lightly over the dirtiest areas of the pan. It doesn’t take much.

Step 4:

Use a sponge and hot water to scrub the pan clean. You’ll need some good elbow grease, depending on how bad it is.

Step 5:

Rinse and wipe pan dry after 1 minute.

…Voila! So quick and so easy!

It’s better when you do this regularly, rather than allowing those tough burn marks to build up over time. Not that I’ve ever done that… (kidding of course ha). We will get to more on that in a moment.

I will mention, it’s not recommended for use on gold, cast iron, or painted surfaces.

But I have never had any problems after using it on my gold Williams Sonoma sheet pans multiple times. If that makes you nervous, try my all-natural BONUS cleaning solution with vinegar and baking soda instead.

The next cleaning solution is a DIY alternative to Bar Keepers Friend. Especially when it comes to extra stubborn burn marks on pans.

Bonus Solution to Clean Burnt PansĀ

Although the previous method is SO quick and easy, some really bad burn marks just can’t be resolved in a minute.

The good news is, there is a chance that you already have everything you need for cleaning really tough burnt pans.Ā Just grab baking soda, dish soap, and distilled white vinegar!

Here’s how I do it…

Step 1:

Generously sprinkle baking soda over burnt pan.

Step 2:

Mix dish soap, white vinegar, and water in spray bottle.

Step 3:

Spray mixture over baking soda and burn marks. It should bubble and thicken.

Step 4:

Let this sit for at least 30-45 minutes. I say the longer the better. It depends on how stubborn the burn is. Test a small area to check.

Step 5:

Use a sponge and hot water to scrub pan clean. It takes effort, but the result is so worth it!

Step 6:

Rinse and wipe pan dry.

It’s the most satisfying feeling to see your pans looking almost brand new again!

There have been a couple of occasions where I needed to use both cleaning methods consecutively. If you’ve done too much damage for the quick and easy route with Bar Keepers Friend, not all hope is lost. This baking soda method is sure to do the trick!
