Our Current Dining Room
Since we moved into our new construction home last May, I’ve been steadily working my way through designing the downstairs living areas.
And while I believe our homes are ever-evolving, the front porch, entryway, living room, and playroom are all areas that I have fully decorated and feel happy with!

Then we have the dining room… a little lackluster as it currently stands.
A fresh coat of paint and a replacement light fixture only go so far. Our dining area needs more love to make the open-concept space feel distinguished.
So naturally, I have been eagerly drafting a dining room mood board and design plan that will elevate this blank canvas.
Dining Room Mood Board and Design Plan
The design plan for this room includes installing two faux beams overhead along with modern, white board and batten walls.
I also plan to trade our current shaded, black light fixture for a more eye-catching aged brass chandelier. There are several existing black accents in the room, so introducing that pop of shiny metal will give the piece the attention it deserves.
We already have our dining table and chairs, but I would like to bring in a set of rounded Windsor chairs for each table end to keep the arrangement custom and visually interesting.
There is a lot of wood in this room and layering with textiles will cozify the space. So I plan to add a durable, easy-to-clean rug and patterned accent pillows.
I am so happy that you are here following our design journey. Stay tuned, the beams are going up first 👏🏼👏🏼
