Living Room Refresh for Fall
With Labor Day weekend behind us, I feel like it is finally time to get in the fall spirit. Bring on the pumpkin flavor everything and cozy fall home decor!
And while I’m always sad to see summer go, I still eagerly anticipate getting my fall decor out of storage every year.
It has been interesting to see my decorative preferences change from year to year though. That storage tub acts as a time capsule reminding me how my eye for design has grown.
So I decided to introduce a few new pieces with intention. This year I wanted our home to feel like fall with the simple, subtle touches coming across in the textiles, tones, and decorative accents.
Here are the areas I focused on to give my living room a refresh for fall.
Style with candles.
Create a cozy mood by styling with candles.
I even swapped out my usual white taper candlesticks for the darker hues of the season.
Refresh greenery with seasonal stems.
I traded out my summer greenery from our console table and coffee table for stems with the rich colors of fall.
.
Use seasonal art.
Autumn-inspired art is another subtle way to decorate for fall. I have used Etsy for art and digital downloads for years. There are so many unique options to choose from.
I love the neutral warm tones of our digitally painted landscape for our Frame TV. NorthPrints (shop here) is one of my favorite Etsy shops. They offer a variety of tasteful, inexpensive digital downloads.
Frame and prop smaller prints to refresh a console, entryway, or end table.
Incorporate autumn-inspired textiles and tones.
Trading out pillowcases or throws will change the mood of a room and take your home from season to season. Select patterns and colors that give a little nod to fall.
This transitional decorative approach is an understated way to achieve the feeling of fall.
