Hi love,
It’s been a couple of months since I’ve posted to the blog and the reason for that is WE’VE FINALLY MOVED! π
After some delay, we finally got the keys to our newly finished home in mid-May. Since then Zach and and I have been busy packing, unpacking, moving furniture, painting, and swapping lighting- plus summer traveling.
*All while keeping up with a one-year-old* and I wouldn’t have it any other way! It feels good to be home.

The desire to make a space feel like home has always been important to me. Ask my college roommates- I took dorm and apartment decor just as seriously as my classes. Not to mention the cleaning schedule I typed, printed, and posted on the fridge at the townhouse I shared with those two girl friends π
It’s embarrassing and hilarious to think about today. So it’s really no surprise now that I enjoy spending time writing about all things decorating, cleaning, and organizing.

How I’m doing things differently in this house…
This is our third home (we like change) and my approach to settling in this time is going to be different.
In the past, I have felt the urge to hurry and decorate the whole house. Which often left me feeling overwhelmed and spread thin. With our new house, I want to give myself permission to slow down. And I came across a home decorating concept that spoke to that idea.
The 12×12 Method says to dedicate your attention to one room of your house each month. So by the end of the year, you’ll have 12 rooms (likely the whole house) complete.
With a million ideas, but limited time and a mindful budget, I appreciate how this approach will gradually take me through intentionally designing our home.
It’s neat how this doesn’t just apply for moving either. People also use this method to declutter, organize, or redecorate. Maybe you’ll want to join me on your own 12×12 journey in a way that suits your home…
What’s coming…
The first area I have been focusing on is the living room, but here are a few snap shots of some other spaces.
So for now, the boxes are unpacked, but the walls are bare. And the pressure is off.Β Slowly but surely each room will come to life. And I am looking forward to taking you through the progress of settling in to our new home here on the blog.
