Early in my pregnancy, Zach and I found ourselves on a Western movie kick. We spent many winter evenings looking for new and old Western movies to watch. I love that memory.
As it turns out, that classic American nostalgia would inspire little moments of Holden’s nursery. Here is how our vintage boy nursery turned out!

Vintage Boy Nursery
When I found out that we were having a boy, I quickly got busy designing a nursery mood board. I love e-design as a tool to harness a vision.
I had a pretty good idea in mind of what I wanted for the space, but a mood board allows me to visually swap pieces in and out until there is a cohesive plan to move forward.
Visit LTK to shop this mood board.
I was drawn to plaids, horses, trains, and vintage landscapes to capture the feeling of the space.
This oversized vintage canvas was printed by Juniper Print Shop. They have high-quality art for amazing prices.
Large prints can be expensive, but this shop makes it affordable and easy with an IKEA frames tutorial here.
Shopping around your local thrift stores can be great for frames, baskets, and vintage toys.
Something special to me is the little rocking horse. It is a solid wood piece handmade by Zach’s late granddaddy.
The green paint color of this room is Royal Orchard by Behr. It is such a rich, beautiful earth tone. And Studio McGee approved- check out their favorite green paint guide!

These vintage nursery prints are from Etsy. Etsy has a large variety of digital prints, making it easy for you to download and print your selections in any size.
Recommended print shops for high-quality prints include Artifact Uprising, MPix, and Shutterfly. You can also print at local print shops including CVS/ Walgreens and Walmart.
The color and quality can depend on the paper medium selected. Get the best results by printing on heavy/ matte, canvas, or paper with a linen texture.
I have grown to love mixing modern and classic pieces when it comes to styling. There is freedom in this approach to design that keeps your home timeless and interesting.
I can’t wait for our baby boy to get here and watch this space grow with him over the years to come!
